Businesses have picked up on the fact that opening their doors to pets will increase their revenue, which is why more and more hotels, restaurants, and other establishments allow pets on their premises than ever before.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although communities across the country are becoming more and more accepting of pets as bonafide family members, many landlords are still resistant to the idea of renting to pet owners. This translates to better security for your property and the surrounding properties as well. Happy tenants and happy neighbors will only increase the value and desirability of your property!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Protecting your Investment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The majority of pets do not cause significant property damage, but it only takes one bad experience to make landlords understandably wary of renting to pet owners again. Before you sign a rental agreement with a pet owner, ask to meet up with them and their pet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carefully observe the pet; Are they well groomed? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rocklinranchvet.com\/blog\/a-look-at-funny-pets\/\">Are they friendly<\/a> and obedient? Does the relationship between pet and owner appear loving and respectful?<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ask the following questions of your prospective tenant:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>How long have they had their pet?<\/li><li>Is the pet spayed\/neutered? (This can significantly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rocklinranchvet.com\/blog\/keeping-your-pet-escape-artist-from-going-on-the-run\/\">impact the pet\u2019s behavior<\/a>.)<\/li><li>Is the pet up-to-date on vaccinations and parasite preventives? (Ask for a copy of the pet\u2019s medical records for confirmation).<\/li><li>How long is the pet typically <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rocklinranchvet.com\/blog\/ask-a-vet-do-pets-watch-tv\/\">left home alone<\/a> during the day or night?
