There has been a lot of attention given to the dangers of vaping<\/a> for those who thought it to be a safe alternative to cigarettes. As we now know, vaping and its byproducts have the power to harm through the inhalation of chemicals. While the spotlight has been on the impact on humans, there should also be more focus on its risks to pets.

What Is Vaping?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vaping is the act of inhaling through an aerosol a concoction of nicotine and other chemicals and exhaling \u201csmoke\u201d, which is actual vapor or fumes. There are two ways that pets can be exposed to harmful chemicals in e-cigs or pens. This includes inhalation of the fumes or ingestion of the e-juice. Both are emergency situations<\/a> that require immediate action by phoning your vet. According to the ASPCA Poison Control Center, there is an alarming increase in the number of calls due to e-cigarettes and vaping products.
